Update: Major incident St Bartholomew's Road,E6

Dear East Ham Resident, 

We understand that the fatal shooting on St Bartholomew's Road in the early hours of this morning will be concerning for local residents and the wider community.

A dedicated team of detectives is working at pace to establish exactly what happened and identify those responsible. Extensive enquiries are ongoing and a crime scene remains in place while investigators gather evidence.

Additional police officers will continue to be visible in the area over the coming days to provide reassurance, answer questions and support the local community. Officers are also working closely with community representatives, local authorities and partner agencies to monitor any concerns and ensure appropriate support is available.

Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who has tragically lost his life.

We would ask residents not to speculate about the circumstances of the incident and instead allow investigators the time and space to conduct a thorough investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident, has information, or may have CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage is urged to come forward.
